Our Final day of class found us scrambling to re-engage with the avenues through which to achieve network connection. I sure needed an in depth refresher so I was pleased to go through the programs step by step. We also learned of #Kaltura.com, on which we can stream live footage and also archive live footage for future viewing. I have always wondered how I am able to watch live footage on television and so it was very interesting to get a hands on look at what goes into streaming live. As with all the interfaces we have been working with, it was not a cake walk. In fact, you have to input many numbers correctly in order to have the product stream. But it isn't impossible and perhaps practice would make perfect in this case. Re-loading #jacktrip and playing around was good fun, albeit frustrating because of program errors, and I found myself understanding its purpose in connection to network music. I think it is the most important program we have worked on because it provides a concise sound connection to other computers and since music is transmitted by sound, without jacktrip we could not perform with any accuracy. I think I may start an "I love Jacktrip" fan club… who's in?Saturday, 08-Sep-12 11:27:31 MDT from web at 51°3'0"N 114°5'7"W
